How to get Calpol, Sudocrem and other children’s medicines for free on the NHS
A mum discovered she had been paying for Calpol and other medicines for her children for eight years – when she could have got it all for free.
Much to her amazement, she could be getting it for free under the ‘minor ailments scheme’.
If you don't pay for prescriptions you may be able to receive advice and be given a medicine for a range of minor ailments, free of charge, on the NHS, without having to visit your doctor first.
“Minor ailments could include coughs, colds, headaches, hay fever, insect bites and stings, eczema, ear ache and diarrhoea.”
Other ailments included in the scheme include nappy rash, head lice, mouth ulcers and teething.
